I am a PhD candidate in the Center for Evolutionary Psychology at UC, Santa Barbara. I received my B.S. in mechanical engineering in 2014 from Syracuse University and completed a post-baccalaureate in psychology in 2019 at UC Berkeley. From there I went on to UCSB to pursue my interest in evolutionary psychology, where I now work under the supervision of Leda Cosmides.
As one of the most cooperative species on Earth, humans face unique challenges when working with others. My research examines how our cognition solves these problems: how the mind represents, evaluates, and regulates cooperative interactions. I propose that distinct domains of cooperation rely on functionally specialized cognitive systems, each tailored to different adaptive challenges. To study this, I integrate cognitive, social, and evolutionary approaches, combining empirical work with computational and theoretical modeling
